This position is located in the Division of Administration, Facilities and Property Branch, Support Services Section. The incumbent serves as a Facilities Specialist and assists in the basic planning of management studies designed to achieve maximum effectiveness and economy of operations within the Facilities and Property Branch and the Agency. This position is developmental to the next grade level of the GS-11, with the target position to the GS-12 grade level.

Duties

As a Support Services Specialist GS- 0342-9, your typical work assignments may include: Conducting, gathering, and organizing research to assist Senior Support Service Specialists in the selection of products, equipment, and system devices. Estimating the cost of printing orders and compiling order and cost estimate data into a report used by the Branch to obligate funds for future printing orders. Deciding actions needed to correct job order and service order deficiencies. Maintaining close liaison with external and internal customers and contract printers to ensure compliance with specifications, adherence to schedules, and accuracy of billing.

IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The Ideal Candidate for the Support Services Specialist GS-9 position has expertise with researching jobs and services costs, conducting cost analyses, and preparing recommendations for job and service selections. The candidate is knowledgeable about managing facilities and monitoring the maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail is desired. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To be qualified for this position at the GS-09 grade level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Support Services Specialist at the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience includes: Receiving and responding to customer inquiries; and Receiving, organizing, and distributing supplies; and Using electronic software systems to track inventory levels. OR Education: 2 full academic years of graduate education or a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS All current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year of experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent grade level of the federal service is required to qualify for the GS-09 grade level. NOTE: All Agency employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive). As a current NLRB career or career conditional employee in the Competitive Service, you may determine your current status by checking block 24 on your SF-50. Block 24 must reflect "1" or "2". Also, block 34 must reflect "1". A copy of your SF-50 must be provided for verification. NOTE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
