The Management and Planning Division (M&P) advises and supports the OIG in the following areas: administrative and fiscal policy, executive resources, training, finance, quality assurance, procurement, facilities, human resources, security, records management.
Duties
The Supervisory Support Services Officer will serve as the Director of the Office of Administrative Services and will oversee a full range of management and administrative support services to facilitate the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) operations, providing oversight and leadership in functional areas such as logistics, procurement, real property, facilities management, and voice telecommunications. The Director is an integral part of the M&P leadership team and will provide office-wide leadership, supervise a multidisciplinary team of support service specialists, and direct, organize, and manage various facility related infrastructure agency wide. Some of the major duties include:
Applies a wide range of program concepts, policies, practices, analytical and diagnostic methods and techniques to address substantive technical issues or problems characterized by complex and/or sensitive matters.
Provides leadership in the development and management of the following programs: procurement, real property and space management, accountable personal property, communications, and occupational safety programs which will be responsive to the needs of the OIG.
Counsels employees on career goals; being alert to training and development opportunities for employees; recommending awards; developing job performance standards, assisting employees to reach an acceptable level of competence;
Oversees the OIG's procurement management program. Ensures that requests for major procurements as well as supplies and equipment are processed in a timely manner and within the provisions of the DOJ, the OIG, the GSA and OMB policies, procedures, and regulations.
Provides management oversight to ensure compliance with regulations, adequacy of justifications for procurements, and general control to avoid waste, fraud, abuse or mismanagement.
Directs the development and maintenance of a comprehensive facilities inventory system to provide control of real (leased) property, complying with applicable DOJ, GSA, and OMB policy and guidance.
Oversees the management of OIG accountable personal property ensuring timely documentation of new and/or excess property.
Stays educated and informed of trends in communications technology and strategically plans for future requirements and upgrades.
Prepares reports on inspection findings and conducts analyses for any inspection or mishap trends.
Requirements

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-14 grade level obtained in the public/private sector. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.). Examples of specialized experience include such duties as: Directing agency wide facilities management to include leasing, space design, building regulations, code requirements, space planning, building support services, telecommunications, and acquisition policies and procedures as they relate to facilities management.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
