This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Policy Office, Courts, Communities and Strategic Partnerships Team. BJA's broad and complex criminal justice grant programs, which are nationwide in scope, provide funds, training, and technical assistance (TTA) to state, tribal, and local criminal justice agencies and stakeholders.

Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: https://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/indexes/num-ndx.aspAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.SCREEN OUT FACTOR:Experience developing, implementing and managing tribal court system and tribal violent crime strategies and capacity building efforts.MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSQualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: experience providing analysis and advice on tribal court systems and tribal violent crime program issues; planned and prepared documents related to tribal court systems and tribal violent crime proposals and implementation; analyze techniques to evaluate findings related to tribal court systems and tribal violent crime program accomplishments; developed grant management policies in tribal court systems and tribal violent crime program implementation, or served as an expert in evaluation of tribal court systems and tribal violent crime program implementation.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Ability to provide advice and guidance in the design and direction of tribal court systems and tribal violent crime implementation, such as on guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, strategic program planning, and grants and cooperative agreement policies.Ability to apply analytical, data-driven methods and techniques in the identification and resolution of tribal court systems and tribal violent crime implementation issues.Ability to plan and execute project management work.Ability to communicate in writing.Ability to communicate orally.
