This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Lead Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) for Acquisition Category (ACAT)designated program(s) or highly complex training system acquisitions.

Duties

Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist concerned with directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). Responsible for cradle to grave intensive logistics management to support complex, major weapon systems from concept through field deployment. Perform the full range of planning, liaison, contract monitoring, equipment and organizational interface, control of other government elements supporting the effort and logistics phases of field exercises and tests. Support includes the management and interface with logistics element managers, contract support services, training facilities, Integrated Logistics Support Management organizations. Establishes or ensures the establishment of ILS requirements of acquisition documents and contracts. Monitors the status and quality of ILS development services and products.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level Advanced in the Acquisition Career Field Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as performing duties that include: 1)Providing cradle to grave logistics management support for a major weapons system from concept through field deployment. 2) Developing documents used for preparation of basic life cycle funding and budgeting to support the acquisition of the system/equipment. 3) Overseeing and monitoring the planning and implementation of a comprehensive logistics program. And 4)Developing, initiating and overseeing the implementation of corrective actions and program enhancements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level/equivalent to the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service.
