You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY in the NAVY ACQUISITION CAREER CENTER of NACC FIELD OFC.
Duties
You will formulate and apply security policy, procedures, systems, and programs involving the loyalty and reliability of people seeking entry and retention in sensitive positions.
You will apply personnel security principles and methods to process initial investigations, clearances, periodic re-investigations,
You will present and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed.
You will evaluate the authenticity, veracity, and pertinence of the data to the case at hand.
You will advise on procedures for adverse security determinations and employee rights.
You will apply agency regulations regarding the type of personnel security check required and requests an investigation from the appropriate organization.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience in evaluating internal and external security clearance requests and ensuring applicant's actions are consistent with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in analyzing and reporting clearance and appeals findings to senior security officials and makes appropriate notifications.
- Experience with Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
- Experience with processing clearance upgrades/downgrades, suspension, revocations, terminations, reinstatements and complete the adjudication, and appeals processes.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
A) Completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
B) Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree;
OR
C) Obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position filled;
OR
D) Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
