Army Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. You will be part of a team managing/supporting the information technology network and business systems that the U.S. Army needs to operate every day. You will serve as an IT Specialist of the Army's Enterprise Computing organization and be supporting everything from Cybersecurity assessments to aiding the Army in moving its business to the Cloud Environment; all while utilizing industry's latest Agile Methodologies.
Duties
Analyze, modify, and design information technology networks, systems, or facilities.
Determine appropriate system, equipment, and network design to efficiently satisfy user needs.
Verify or determine extent of systems modification or design required to meet user needs.
Provide technical assistance, and attend meetings and briefings related to project assignments. Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art technology in the information technology field.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level Foundational in the Acquisition Career Engineer and Technical Management Field within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This is a TERM position intended to last for 2 YEARS, May be extended up to 5 Years, or made permanent.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. To qualify based on your experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:

AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-01/GS-04) in the Federal Service which includes experience in:(1) Utilizing current IT hardware/software technology; AND (2) Overseeing projects concerned with the development of security plans, policy and procedures, and experience in applying knowledge of security standards, best practices and experienced in Java, Python, and C++.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-01/GS04)
