About the Position: This position is located with the Logistics Readiness Center in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Receive requests for issue or shipment of supplies and equipment.
Determine docking area for off-loading.
Operate forklifts/motor vehicles safely.
Receive and /or process incoming shipments from supported customer units or commercial shipments.
Participate in inventories of stock on hand as required.
Complete and/or issue items listed on Delegation of Authority Card (DA Form 1687).
Palletize and/or assemble items in temporary storage area for issue or further distribution to appropriate storage area.
Perform warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping sensitive items such as small arms, classified items, and communication security material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) endorsement.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain forklift certification and driving test.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime on an on-call status.
- This position has a requirement to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds in the regular performance of duties. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision to include performing warehousing operations which include 1) receiving, storing and issuing a wide variety of supplies and equipment; and 2) unloading, inspecting, and tallying stock to assure quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Working Conditions: Primarily works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads.
