You will serve as an EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT in the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER of MARFORCOM NORFOLK.
Duties
You will be responsible for managing the operating schedule of the Executive Director and exercise control over appointment scheduling.
You will research and coordinate with staff to plan executive level travel, interface with VIPs, engage in major events and social activities, and provide speeches.
You will compose and edit correspondence for the Executive Director and ensure regulatory and procedural accuracy.
You will be responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, and/or requirements.
You will manage phone calls based on knowledge of internal workflow, priority programs, and organizational policy and receive high-ranking visitors from both the military and civilian communities.
You will provide training, advice, and assistance on administrative matters and complete projects and special assignments.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Research and determine or recommend actions based on interpretations of issues that may impact the organization; advise decision makers on methods for improving administrative support systems (e.g., communications, directives, training, suspense control, files management, records management); analyze, and advise supervisors and managers regarding personnel administration policies, regulations, and program requirements; and use written and oral communication to provide and request information, conduct fact-finding interviews, and explain conclusions and/or recommendations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- I have successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR
- I have successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR

- I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
