Serves as the agency fall protection competent person.
Duties
Apply expert knowledge to manage agency-wide technical occupational safety and health programs.
Provide expert-level recognition, evaluation, and control of fall hazards in scientific, construction and support services including but not limited to fall surveys of roofs, scaffolds, lifts, and fixed ladders.
Manage all aspects of fall protection program and inspect fall protection equipment and PPE.

Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 (ZA-III at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as:
Managing and implementing safety and occupational health programs with a focus on fall protection in a scientific and construction environment
Experience designing and delivering safety training
Experience in hazard abatement with an emphasis on fall protection systems and materials handling
Experience in the inspection and evaluation of safety equipment with an emphasis on fall protection systems and materials handling
