This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for advising the Chief, Force Rotation Branch on all current operational matters that impact the development of sourcing recommendations for the fiscal year rotational plan.
Duties
As a FORCE ROTATION ANALYST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Force Rotation Analysts are responsible to support and execute the development of sourcing recommendations and plans to meet the Joint force requirements of Combatant Commanders.
The Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP) ultimately schedules, orders, and deploys service members from all Services in support of Combatant Commander Requirements worldwide and routinely encompasses over 200K personnel and hundreds of ground units, aircraft and naval platforms.
The incumbent serves as Force Rotation Analyst source of expertise and continuity for the Force Rotation branch for all matters related to operational policy, procedures, and doctrine in support of the Global Force Management (GFM) rotational force-providing mission.

- Incumbents must be able to achieve and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
- This is a Key position. In the event of a national emergency or mobilization, these positions cannot be vacated which requires the incumbent, or designated alternate, to be screened from military recall status.
- This is a Testing Designated Positions (TDP) under the civilian drug-testing program.
- The incumbents may be required to travel to domestic and worldwide locations to participate in conferences and seminars (10%).
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Executing Global Force Management (GFM) responsibilities including developing, coordinating, submitting and tracking either rotational or emergent deployment requirements; .
Working with or interpreting force deployment orders published in the Global Force Management Allocation Plan; .
Preparing written Flag/General Officer/Agency Leadership level briefings for presentation and decision.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
