This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Arlington, VA. This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Diversion Control Division (DC), Reports Analysis Unit (DOIR).

As a Program Analyst your typical work assignments may include: Formulating and developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of major agency programs. Providing expert analysis and evaluation to management that encompass programmatic milestones, schedules, and resource planning and execution required for effective management, operations, and decision making in support of a project/program or functional area. Consulting and coordinate with DEA managers to make assignments, and review and discuss operations, special projects, long and short range plans, and other management considerations. Advising senior management on policy and program developments. Providing guidance on the resolution of problems and on the most effective utilization of staff and resources. Utilizing a variety of databases and software programs to evaluate and present analysis and recommendation.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes: GS-12: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level which includes performing the following duties: 1) Analyzing data to identify trends; 2) Using quantitative analytical methods to solve problems; 3) Evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of major agency operations; 4) Providing advice and guidance on policy, regulations, and program developments; and 5) Researching and composing reports. GS-13: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level which includes performing the following duties: 1) Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long range implementation; 2) Developing financial statements for management; 3) Conducting analysis in support of strategic planning and budget forecasting; and 4) Advising management on the resolution of problems. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
