About the Position: Serves as a Doctrine Developer which is the principal Army Medical activity for the development and promulgation of Army medical doctrine and multi-Service publications for U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE), located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Develops technically sound Operational Medicine doctrinal manuals which outline principles, organizations, tactics, techniques and procedures of Army Health System missions and functions. Plans, writes, coordinates, edits, and prepares Operational Medicine doctrinal literature products (e.g., field manuals and Army techniques publications) for subsequent publication, as official medical doctrine literature of Department of the Army. Makes recommendations concerning the nature of the project (i.e., change, revision, new publication) as part of the Operational Medicine doctrine development process. Assists in the development of one joint publication.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
