About the Position: This position serves as a Training Instructor assigned to Womack Army Medical Center, Information Management Division which provides support of training operations of the Department of Defense Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Duties
Maintain knowledge of the health care environment for the delivery of training instruction on clinical information systems.
Assess the need for Electronic Health Record (EHR) training within the Medical Training Facility and remote clinics based on turnover rate and the estimated influx of new staff.
Develop new or revised training or testing materials for formal course use.
Utilize educational techniques and training methodologies to develop, implement and evaluate training programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of at least 35% of the time.
- The incumbent of this position may be required to work outside normal duty hours to meet the needs of the customer.
- The incumbent of this position is required to be screened for applicable immunizations and subject to missing/required immunizations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes executing the methods and techniques of instruction, teaching and/or instructing hospital staff on the use of medical automated systems in a clinical setting; and reviewing training course materials, aids, and devices for technical and educational accuracy.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Training and Development.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (36 semester hours) by 18. Add the two percentages.
