About the Position: Serves as a Financial Management Analyst located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Maintain budget/financial systems Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), General Fund Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS), and Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) to provide analysis, recommendations and advice to the command/customers.
Execute fiscal year closeout procedures to ensure certification requirements and financial report integrity.
Identifies, analyzes, and resolves budgetary problems for reimbursable funded activities subject to fluctuating revenues and changing demands for services which necessitate reprogramming through the year.
Works directly with high-level managers to ensure they are furnished with the most complete and accurate representation of financial and cost information and ensure understanding of financial implications of alternative courses of action.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret background investigation.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 10% of the time.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position, designated in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes identifying budgetary problems impacting program operations; providing recommendations/advice to management to avoid violating financial policies and regulations; assisting planning a yearly fiscal budget; and 4) utilizing financial systems such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) to locate and analyze data pertaining to the budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
