This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Assistant Commandant for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Technology (CG-6), Office of Privacy Management (CG-6P), Washington, DC.
Duties
You will serve as a Privacy Officer/Privacy Compliance Manager, responsible for developing and maintaining cybersecurity plans, strategy, and policy to support and align with organizational cybersecurity initiatives and regulatory compliance. You will also ensure compliance with privacy practices and consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies for all individuals in the organization's workforce, extended workforce, and for all business associates, the information security officer, and legal counsel as applicable.

- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires a Top Secret clearance.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience may include:
Conducting privacy training and/or awareness activities;
Managing privacy incidents and breaches;
Resolving allegations of noncompliance with privacy policies.
To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience may include:
Developing privacy training programs and/or guidance;
Developing privacy and compliance standard operating procedures;
Resolving allegations of noncompliance with privacy policies.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
