The incumbent serves as a technical advisor, liaison, and consultant to a variety of Defense, Civilian, State, Local, Tribal and other Government agencies.  Location of Position: You must live within 50 miles of one of the following locations: Hanscom Air Force Base/Bedford, MA; Picatinny Arsenal, NJ; or Huntsville AL/Redstone Arsenal.  We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Duties

This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home) within the specified geographic area.  Although you must reside and perform the job functions in the specific geographic location, it will not require you to report to the agency worksite on a regular and recurring basis.

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the 12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is advising and consulting with customers on the procurement of multiple services and products in order to meet their organizational and business needs. This experience must include educating and advising customers on a variety of acquisition and procurement vehicles; planning and executing established customer support goals; establishing and maintaining customer relationships; preparing and conducting customer briefings, seminars, and site visits; and independently analyzing customer budget, spend data, and market trends in order to develop acquisition strategies and provide recommendations.
