About the Position: Incumbent will perform budgetary, analytical and administrative duties relating to the budgetary programs, policies, and procedures for 1st Space Brigade, Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command. This position is located in Fort Carson, CO.
Duties
Monitors the execution of 1st Space Brigade’s approved operating budget.
Reviews budget requests for compliance with approved program guidance.
Develops plans, procedures, and instructions for the formulation and execution monitoring of the 1st Space Brigade’s operating budget.
Provides technical guidance and training to subordinate budget analysts tasked with preparing, managing, and executing internal spend plans.
Analyzes budgetary and financial data for consistency with financial integrated priority lists/spend plans, policies, fiscal constraints, and regulatory guidelines.
Monitors the execution of the Defense Travel System for compliance.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain the Financial Management Level 1 Certification.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a comprehensive knowledge of governing budget policies, precedents, procedures and regulations; utilizing automated financial systems to process budget transactions, systems interfaces, and reimbursable processing; and compiling budget forecasts, estimates, and submissions following applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or equivalent grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
