THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Base Operations Supervisor, Position Description Number D1158000 and is part of the CO CTC, National Guard. The purpose of the position is to serve as a Training Center Manager responsible for all operational aspects of the training center.

Duties

Manages the overall operational aspects of the Garrison Training Center to include long and short range planning, and directing the operation, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and construction of all real property. Ensures the provision of supply, support to troops, and training at the installation to include requirements, procurement, storage, issue and control of ammunition, POL, Station property, cantonment supply and billeting, and transportation motor pool operations. Manages a variety of funds including program management of Range and Training Program (RTLP) funds and Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) funds. Directs the development of regulations, procedures and operating instructions tailored to the specific needs of the training center and addresses such functions as logistics and facilities management, range operations, administrative requirements, etc. Implements programs to ensure compliance with all environmental and natural resource regulations established by Federal, state, and local agencies. Ensures the continuous operational mobilization readiness of the training center and the operational ability on short notice (less than 24 hours) to support state and federal agencies in support of national defense initiatives. Oversees the development and implementation of peacetime aspects of the training center mobilization mission to include preparation and maintenance of the installation mobilization plan and mobilization information packet. Communicates and coordinates with NGB, commands of other MACOM's, states, their staffs and various organizational headquarters on matters pertaining to supply and training support activities. Attends meetings, communicates, and coordinates with Federal, state, and city officials and civic organizations for the purpose of obtaining public services, planning for future needs, and discussing community problems or development plans that affect training center operations and the community. Develops procedures and implements programs to ensure the physical security and safety of the employees, tenants, facilities, and property of the installation Training Centers. In coordination with troop commanders, directs the establishment of recreational sites and provides recreational equipment in support of troop welfare programs. Directs, coordinates, and oversees the work of subordinate supervisors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Must be current Permanent Dual Status Federal Technician with the ARNG Training Site Command.
  • Must hold the grade of E-7.
  • Submit all required documentation.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-7 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicants RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. 4. If education or a degree is required as part of the "Specialized Experience", you must include transcripts. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. 2. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. 3. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. 4. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. 5. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. 6. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Education

Substitution of Education for the Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets 6 months Specialized Experience.

Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for two months of specialized experience.
