You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist in the ACINT Department of FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER. You will perform complex and unique assignments regarding scientific and technical intelligence analysis and production relative to a broad field or critical area in LOFAR (Low Frequency Array) analysis, signal processing, algorithm development, radiated noise level prediction/measurements, or target motion analysis/reconstruction for a major program/project.

Duties

You will perform complex and unique assignments regarding scientific and technical intelligence analysis and production relative to a broad field or critical area. You will analyze, evaluate, and integrate scientific/engineering data from multiple sources to produce non-standard and innovative assessments and conclusions. You will prepare and present briefings on projects, studies and analysis to high-level administrative and technical Service managers. You will maintain close liaison with cognizant and high-level administrative technical and managerial personnel within the Service, allied foreign governments and private industry.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position requires periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Some travel may be required (within/outside of US.)

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing in-depth expert level knowledge of several of major fields (including LOFAR analysis, signal processing, algorithm development, radiated noise level prediction/measurements, or target motion analysis/reconstruction), especially as applied to analyzing foreign platform and underwater weapon signatures; 2) Consulting and providing advice on matters concerning the most complex technical aspects of important programs involving the development of basic theories, techniques, or criteria for improving Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) analysis of foreign naval platforms and underwater weapons; 3) Interacting with senior-level foreign and domestic partners for the purpose of exchanging intelligence information, enhancing relationships, and soliciting support for mission efforts; and, 4) Developing and interpreting guidelines, ensuring adherence to analytic trade-craft laws, regulations, and best practices, and providing quality assurance for complex current and future broad-area analytic projects that may include multiple organizations.
