Duties
Translates complex information related to IT, cybersecurity, U.S. military operations, and the National Defense Strategy into easy-to-understand social media posts, news articles, webpages, short-form videos, visual designs and more.
Reviews technical papers, publications and other sources for potential news story ideas and adapts them for release and digital media amplification.
Works with the Social Media Team Lead and digital communication teammates to produce original content, proof and publish content including but not limited to short-form videos and news articles and measure social media engagements.
Coordinates interviews with subject matter experts to develop content and news for the agency’s digital channels. Regular travel to local and national events to capture content is required.
Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or Alternate Contracting Officer Representative.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a 2-year TERM position with option to renew.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS) up to 50 percent of the time.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as experience in creating and executing communication campaigns across social media, public web, and other digital channels designed to inform, educate, and inspire the public and targeted audiences about the agency.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
