This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Fort Meade, Maryland .
Duties
Serves as a public affairs specialist in the Internal Communication Branch for DOD agency focused on providing cyber, information technology, and communications support to the military services, national level leaders, and federal partners.
Develops plans and campaigns to disseminate information to internal stakeholders on DISA’s programs, projects, policies, events and initiatives.
Evaluates problems encountered in communicating to internal stakeholders and advises on and recommends specific communication activities designed to meet these problems.
Demonstrates strong writing, editing, oral communication, knowledge management skills and editorial judgement to develop campaign materials including feature articles, evaluating the most appropriate channel.
Applies a substantial knowledge of communication and plain language principals to create clear, accurate and accessible messages for audiences with diverse interests and backgrounds.
Writes, designs and manages content for internal digital newsletter and CCTV, ensuring consistent brand identity.

Qualifications
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience editing, drafting, and disseminating national or global campaigns and communication strategies and diverse materials for a range of audiences, managing multiple projects and deadlines, and utilizing information sources and research methods to develop information on programs and policies.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.
