About the Position: This position serves as the Operations Officer for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command located at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Establish policy and perform overall strategic planning, enterprise management, and coordination for the organization by analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives, and developing plans for accomplishment of assigned functions.
Develop programs and keeps informed of developments within assigned program responsibilities through discussions with subordinate staff, conferences with support and user organizations, and reviews of daily work accomplishments.
Establish and maintain effective coordination with operating officials of other command elements on matters of mutual concern or requiring coordinated effort.
Accomplish special assignments for the Director as necessary in various areas of Commands interest, which may impact at higher levels.
Requirements
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing policies, plans, and procedures that impact a commands overall operational function; identifying needs and requirements; developing strategies and policy responses; staffing and coordinating actions; providing direction, guidance, leadership and coordination of organization's operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
