You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the FMS Sustainment Department of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will assist in the planning, analysis and execution of an effective Integrated Logistics Support Program.
You will ensure the safety and readiness of assigned systems while reducing the total cost of ownership for those logistics services.
You will provide planning and sustainment analysis for FMS Transportation.
You will develop staging plans with the appropriate facility requirements for geo-positioning assets in preparation of potential
operational requirements.
You will evaluate the requirements, preferences and existing business practices to determine how to support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHSandT).
Requirements

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-2 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of the regulations and policies that influence the actions associated with FMS transportation support; 2) Understanding transport options and processes required for proper utilization of those transportation methods; 3) Exhibiting a proficient understanding of the policies and processes involved in the movement of various classifications of hazardous materials.
