You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Fleet Support Team (FST), HQ Tech Data Department Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers.

Duties

You will serve as the FST HQ Tech Data Department Head overseeing all process, policies and tools, enabling the success of our enterprise wide FSTs. You will approve and/or modify multi-year and long-range organizational resources regarding training, workload execution, prioritization and capabilities development expenditures. You will lead qualified personnel, processes, facilities (i.e. tech data libraries, data repositories, etc.), and ensure requirements are translated into sound FST technical data products. You will establish support requirements through active participation in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy Planning, Programming, and Budget system (PPBS) process. You will oversee life cycle cost considerations of technical data tradeoffs for varying degrees of capability to ensure requirements are balanced with affordability.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing risk mitigation in support of technical data management to facilitate logistically supportable and cost affordable logistics product data execution through weapons system lifecycle. 2) Performing FST Technical management and analysis oversight of weapons system Logistics Product Data, to include but not limited to Technical Manuals/Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (TM/IETMs) and Technical Publications processes and tools for naval aviation systems throughout their anticipated life cycles. 3) Developing strategic guidance, policy, and procedures and overseeing corrective actions. 4) Developing and presenting written and oral briefs to high level officials; and experience leading a team of subordinate employees.
