This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Medicare Drug Benefit And C & D Data Group (MDBG), Division of Plan Data (DPD).
As a Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will implement and operationalize provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) as it impacts the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.
Duties
Provide expert guidance on the development of policies, guidance, and regulations related to Part B and D inflation rebate program.
Oversee the operational procedures, oversight, and critical issues which have a major impact on Medicare Advantage (MA) organizations and Prescription Drug Plan (PDP).
Provide technical assistance to solve problems by participating in meetings, answering inquiries, going onsite, doing special analyses and refining instructions.
Develop technical responses to correspondence concerning the impact of IRA program policies and data collection on Federal financing programs to the healthcare industry.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1. Analyzing laws, regulations, guidance, and/or program needs to implement the Health Plan Management System (HPMS) functionality for health care programs;
2. Developing and presenting recommendations on the implementation of the Health Plan Management System (HPMS), in support of health care programs; and
3. Providing technical direction and advising high-level leadership regarding system implementation strategies related to healthcare programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
