This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality.
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as Deputy to a Senior Executive Service-level Director and share authority and responsibility with the Director for six Divisions of iQIIG and several national programs.
Duties
Provides business operations, direction and oversight for program implementation efforts, including efforts to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency in leading and executing large national programs.
Directs the preparation, compilation, review, analysis, and submission of all business operations data impacting CCSQ iQIIG functions required for program management and execution.
Serves as a technical expert and resource to CMS leadership, as well as other internal and external stakeholders, on issues related to the administration of large national programs or related initiatives.
Represents the Agency and provides national leadership and direction in operational activities – budget, human resources, technology, procurements and operational infrastructure.
Set long-range goals and objectives, translates objectives into specific projects, plans for long range staffing and organization needs, manages organizational changes, and decide on the full range of personnel actions affecting the Group

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Managing operations projects focused on budget, procurement, technology and infrastructure to support national programs; 2) Developing business strategies to support optimal organizational capacity to meet the organization's goals to improve healthcare quality and safety 3) Overseeing work activities of employees or teams to ensure that program operations are met.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
