This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Performance-Based Payment Policy Group (PBPPG), Division of ACO Finance & Data Analytics (DAFDA).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as Division Director of DAFDA with responsibility for developing, analyzing, interpreting, and implementing, policies and standards for the Medicare Shared Savings Program.
Duties
Develops regulations and guidance relating to assigned areas.
Provides expert consultation to staff and leadership on technical and policy issues, defines individual team members assignments, and resolves work problems presented by staff.
Maintains continuing liaison with provider groups, industry associations, patient organizations, medical associations, and other parties to foster ongoing, open communications.
Directs policy analysis activities relating to value-based payment programs and the Medicare Shared Saving Program.
Directs the development of detailed implementation plans, project schedules and operational policies and procedures for national programs and initiatives.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must clearly demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Leading project and policy development to ensure compliance with agency regulations and guidelines and operational priorities; and (2) Advising senior officials, internal and external stakeholders regarding Medicare programs (e.g., Fee-for-Service, Medicare Shared Savings Program policy and operations, performance-based payment policy and operations); and (3) Leading team members to include reviewing work deliverables, ensuring timely completion of deliverables, mentoring, or resolving a variety of conflict-based situations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
