Duties
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: NGA is currently recruiting for Imagery Analyst at multiple locations. Below are brief descriptions of the location and respective duties. Recommend applicants to tailor their application to the respective offices, if applicable in addition to the mandatories and applicable desirable qualifications.NGA Suitland partners with Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC), the US Navy's Service Intelligence Center, providing in-depth GEOINT analysis focused on naval Science & Technology (S&T). NGA Suitland supports and collaborates regularly with our ONI partners, including US Navy, DoD, Intelligence Community, civil and law enforcement, and senior decision/policy-makers at all levels within the United States Government and combatant commands. NGA Charlottesville, located at the US Army's Rivanna Station installation, produces timely, relevant, accurate, and actionable GEOINT, including foundational military intelligence (FMI) and scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI). This work directly supports military operations and the DIA and NGIC mission partners collocated at Rivanna Station. NGA Charlottesville's FMI and S&TI analysis and reporting has a direct and enduring effect on U.S. national security decisions made by policymakers, military planners, and deployed forces.NGA Bolling serves within the footprint at multiple locations worldwide. Across this vast footprint, NGA Bolling facilitates all aspects of GEOINT services, provides foundational military intelligence (FMI) to support the NGA Strategy and across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE), expert analysis on far-ranging technical intelligence issues, expertise on global health security, GEOINT expertise for the global community services and performs liaison roles across a wide swath of responsibilities, and facilities access to GEOINT data, services and capabilities, enabling substantive NGA-DIA partnerships.Additional Application Requirement: You may be asked to complete one or more assessments in addition to the application you submit on this website as part of your application to NGA. Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Experience with research and analysis, imagery, and/or geospatial analysis.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Foreign Area Studies, Geography, History, International Affairs, International Studies, Military Science, Physical Science, Political Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience working in an Intelligence discipline analyzing and interpreting imagery and maintaining and building tasking strategies, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience working in an Intelligence discipline analyzing and interpreting imagery and maintaining and building tasking strategies, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses; Stereopsis ability; Hand steadinessENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENT: Prolonged exposure to video display unitsDESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). 2. Experience using technical skills, such as computer vision implementation, data mining in addition to analytics, data visualization, statistical analysis, algorithm development, and/or data science. 3. Knowledge of national and/or Commercial Imaging Systems; Image Tasking; Image Processing; Image Exploitation, and writing imagery reports. 4. Knowledge of national or commercial imagery systems to include tasking, processing, exploitation, and analysis. 5. Experience with imagery analysis or all-source intelligence to address matters of national concern, such as foreign military, foundational military intelligence (FMI), environmental, and/or terrorism. 6. Experience in a related work role for the Federal Government, specifically the Military and/or Intelligence Community. Intelligence Conclusion Development.
