Duties

Manages Military Personnel Strength/Military Personnel Service Support (PSS) throughout agency. Analyzes military HR programs to determine needs of the Command that specifically includes standard levels of service. Interprets, develops, implements, and administers a variety of staff assignments in various military HR program areas. Accountable for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs. Develops guidance, procedures, and standards for new and/or changing program area(s).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
  • Temporary duty travel of 10% may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a wide range of military human resources policies and procedures to manage military personnel actions and/or military strength requirements; providing advisory service to management on human resources procedures and issues; recommending corrective action to resolve problems where extensive changes in established procedures and methods may be required; and ensure proper management of military personnel and assists in the accuracy and maintenance of military databases and reporting systematic discrepancies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
