About the Position: This position is located with the G1 Deputy Chief of Staff, Human Resources Management, Military Personnel Division, Rock Island IL.
Duties
Manages a full service military personnel division through subordinate leaders.
Formulates planning strategies to provide multi-compo (Active and Reserve Component) support to operational requirements.
Manages the timely submission of senior officer and non-commissioned officer evaluations across the Command.
Serves as the primary advisor to senior leadership on military personnel programs and policies.
Formulates plans, policies and procedures to advise senior leaders on Military personnel programs, such as IPPS-A, MER/EMC cycles.
Provides advice and assistance on the interpretation and application of directives and policy statements having indirect impact.
Provides procedural and policy guidance to subordinate units/personnel.
Manages Officer Evaluation Reports/profile for ASC Commanding General.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier3 Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary duty travel of approximately 10% may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesadvising on strategic manning of military personnel to support the needs of the Command; Interpreting regulations to recommend courses of action on military personnel matters; Analyzing and coordinating military personnel requirements with management officials for actions crossing all levels within a command; and providing guidance to a diverse team, including both military and civilian personnel, on broad program goals, technical objectives, and boundaries of assigned military HR programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
