About the Position: Serve as an operations and planning staff officer providing subject matter expertise for operations orders, operations tracking, and technical writing of operations orders with full responsibility for all activities involved in the management of operations/planning in support of the Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC). This position is with the Troop Command located on Tripler Army Medical Center, HI.

Duties

Execute a tracking program for publishing operations orders, schedules, support efforts, and status across TAMC departments that ensures mission achievement based on TAMC mission goals and objectives. Report on the status of preparation, coordination, and logistical support of published operations orders and tasking(s). Work as the primary interface, liaison, and coordination between the Commander, higher headquarters, department directors, and external customers to develop operations orders and tasking within the TAMC Operations Division.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. OR GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing subject matter expertise for operations orders, operations tracking, and technical writing of operations orders with full responsibility for all activities involved in the management of operations/planning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
