About the Position: This position is located at the Tripler Army Medical Center Operations Division, at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
Serves as the Chief for the Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) and serves as the principal advisor to the TAMC Commander on the formulation, coordination and execution of operational, emergency and disaster plans and policies for the TAMC footprint and assigned units/facilities.
Duties
Serve as the Chief, Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC).
Supervise all members of TAMC Operations.
Plan and direct the development, modification and revisions to TAMC steady state Plans and Operations
Provide continuity and background knowledge of emergency response operations.
Plan and conduct emergency management training and education.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- One year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching operational studies to develop recommendations and conclusions of military or emergency plans, programs and policies; reviewing operational taskings to determine missions applicable to the center; and preparing staff paper/decision memorandum or command operational reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
