You will serve as a Recovery Care Coordinator in the Navy Wounded Warrior Subdivision of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.

Duties

You will ensure the development, implementation, and oversight of the Comprehensive Recovery Plan (CRP) in conjunction with the Navy Wounded Warrior Team. You will consult and collaborate with the medical case management team for concerns raised by the recovering service member. You will analyze data for planning and reporting purposes. You will represent the Navy Wounded Warrior Program at meetings, committees, conferences and symposiums briefing both small and large groups. You will perform other civilian duties as specified by higher authority, to include leading, organizing, training.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing support to wounded, ill and injured service members, utilizing military pay, personnel and casualty assistance policies and regulations; 2) Establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with representatives of community organizations and community leaders; and 3) Facilitating case management as a member of a team in the recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration of seriously wounded, ill and injured warriors.
