Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Space Force Command (HQSF) at the Pentagon is searching for an Information Security Specialist, DSZ (NH-0080-03).
***This is a TERM position not to exceed 1 year***
Description:
Come make history with the USSF Security Team!!! DSZ is the Security Lead for the United States Space Force Space Staff ensuring our nations secrets are protected and USSF adherence to applicable laws as well as national, DoD, and other security policies and requirements.
The ideal candidate possess experience in working in Special Access Programs (SAP) and have a thorough knowledge of SAP policies. Must be a self-starter and willing to enforce security within an organization. Must also have in-depth knowledge of running an INFOSEC program.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Detailed knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security procedures for physical, personal, and information security programs within the organization.
2. Detailed knowledge of security incident handling, to include computer incidents caused by human error and negligence.
3. Detailed knowledge of DNI, DoD, DIA and other Space Force missions, functions, goals, and objectives.
4. Practical experience to effectively write and orally communicate security information to various audiences, to include line staff and management.
5. Experience in establishing effective professional working relationships with co-workers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
6. Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of command in all kinds of situations to include processing very sensitive information about personnel, handling alarm activations, interfacing with civilian, federal, and military police forces and keeping calm in emergency situations.
7. Ability to effectively plan, assess, monitor, and use various computer programs with diverse applications.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret Special Sensitive Security Clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206).
