The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Program Specialist at the 891h Airlift Wing overseeing the personnel security of Air Force Two and the Presidential Support positions within the Wing excluding those members assigned to the Presidential Airlift Group.
Duties
Implements and administers the Information Security Program for National Level programs as designated by the Secretary of the Air Force.
Manages the Personnel Security Program for the 89th Airlift Wing.
Responsible for aiding the Industrial and Information Security Specialists, as well as the Chief, Information Protection on AFDW.
Provides policy oversight to staff agency and unit level security managers in the implementation of security education and motivation programs.

- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position {TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying expert knowledge of a major area of security specialization with demonstrated mastery of security administration programs, comprehensive knowledge of security policy requirements to function as technical authorities in assignments requiring the application of theories and developments to security problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted security methods, technology and procedure; knowledge in resolving major conflicts in policy and program objectives.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Expert knowledge of all levels for classified information, industrial, physical, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas as well as DAF research and technology protection procedures.
Advanced knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet classified mission requirements. Ability to manage all spectrums of planning (crisis to long range).
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, in a clear, concise, and accurate manner, to high-ranking military and civilian officials.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with co-workers, subordinates, high-ranking officials and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment for successful accomplishment of the mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
