Duties
The incumbent serves as the Deputy Associate Director (Business Operations) in the Engineering and System Integration (ESI) Directorate, assisting with the management of the Directorate by leading an assigned portfolio of programs and/or responsibilities. Span of control comprises core technical competencies, a multidisciplinary workforce, and a subordinate team. Provides oversight to a team responsible for a wide variety of business functions to include management and tracking of taskers, replies to requests for information, tracking of memorandums of agreement/understanding, personnel deployment, conference management and other critical business functions. Participates on boards, committees, teams, and panels that pertain to this focus area in the organization's interest. Provides recommendations to the Associate Director (Business Operations) on items of interest pertinent to subordinate organizational units, and possesses skills to develop analytical and evaluative methods to develop recommendations for realistic short- and long-range goals, objectives, and measurable metrics.

- This position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
- Position is designated Special-Sensitive (4) Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Access (SCI) or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance/access.
- This is a Drug testing designated position and the incumbent is required to complete a drug test prior to appointment and periodically thereafter DA Form 5019.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires an Official Passport with no travel restrictions, or incumbent must be able to obtain a passport with no travel restrictions.
- Position requires travel on short notice (i.e., less than 24 hours' notice).
- This position is designated as Mission Essential. Employee can be required to remain on duty or report for duty during contingency operations or other emergency situations (including dangerous weather conditions).
- Commensurate with mission requirements, can be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a Three-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Supervisory >25%
- Supervisor probationary period for newly (promoted/selected) supervisors is two years. Existing Federal employees who are competitively selected or reassigned to a supervisory position will be required to complete a supervisory probationary period.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade or band is required. It is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-03 (GS-13 equivalent grade level or higher) in the Federal Service which includes: 1) Managing the coordination of programs and fiscal requirements; 2) Strategic planning, programming and policy initiatives; 3) Formulating and recommending resource strategies consistent with organizational priorities, goals and objectives; 4. Developing new methods and measures to cope with business and problems and situations; and 5) Implementing organization initiatives and strategic long
term goals.
