About the Position: The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) is the Army's technology leader. Duties

Represents the Command at high-level meetings with key officials of military services, industry, academia, State and local governments, and foreign governments. Serves as principal advisor to Army leadership on matters relating to research, technology development and investment, and technology transition. Approves or decides on personnel actions, makes selections on key positions, and approves selections made by subordinate supervisors. Exercises managerial authority to set long-range goals and objectives, translate objectives into specific Command projects, and determine program emphasis.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A one year probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties may be required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Report OGE-450 upon entry and annually thereafter.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialzied experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level which includes: 1) Management and execution of business activities, critical support, and long-range strategic planning; and 2) The planning and execution of financial processes. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingFinancial ManagementLeadershipWorkforce Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
