You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Transportation & Distribution Department, Transportation Operations Division of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will review work associated with logistics, contracting and transportation-related planning; recommend process changes; establish the operating requirements; evaluate operations and furnishes technical traffic management recommendations. You will coordinate and support efforts pertaining to manpower, funding, budgeting, feasibility studies and overall FACTS SP transportation logistical management policy administration areas. You will oversee personnel in the daily task of reviewing and processing computer generated transportation logistical management plans, shipments, contracts and approving the plans based on sound transportation logistical management decisions. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes the following: 1) Analyzing and evaluating current policies and recommending changes for the worldwide logistical support and transportation of material; 2) Applying a wide range of logistics management principles, theories, and processes to develop solutions to logistics management and transportation issues; 3) Developing tools and techniques to enhance logistics and transportation support over assigned programs; 4) Providing expert guidance on Department of Defense logistics processes to include supply management, principles, transportation industry operations, and capabilities; 5) Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates based on priorities, considering the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
