You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will serve as the Business Financial Manager (BFM) supporting NIWC Pacific, assigned to a Department as a direct report to the HXR56 Division BFM. You will develop cost analyses throughout the life cycle of the project/program to illustrate and improve the economy/efficiency of current and projected operations. You will support decision making, planning, and program analysis using multiple forms of metrics, tools, reports, and analyses with decision makers to support project/program schedule and established targets. You will develop and implements strategies for organizing, analyzing, and reporting requirements for program/project managers and their customers. You will support the efficiency and overall financial excellence of programs/projects and initiatives within their assigned Department and Org Code. You will analyze cost performance data for cost overrun potentials and assist project managers with risk mitigation.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: extracting data from Information Technology (IT) systems and provide financial reporting to project management using IT tools and processes (such as Navy Enterprise Resources Planning (NERP), Microsoft Excel (to include Pivot Tables and LOOKUP function); and tracking project related expenditures and transactions for acquisition life cycle programs. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
