You will serve as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Processing and Disbursement Center - PDC, in Fort Worth, Texas. The employee is the technical authority reporting directly to the Center Deputy Director and acts as the Center Director's representative on an agency wide basis regarding all information technology (IT) matters.
Duties
As a/an Supervisory Information Technology Specialist at the GS-2210-14, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Department Head for the Information Technology (IT) Department and as the Center authority on Information Technology. Acts as the representative for the Center Director on a national basis regarding all IT matters.
Oversees the Center's technical policy authorities and is involved in the short and long-range national plans for the technical enhancement of the enterprise systems and components.
Exercises general technical oversight or delegates authority through a subordinate supervisor.
Supervises a diverse staff that fluctuates in number due to disaster loan activity. Interviews candidates for subordinate positions and makes or recommends selections.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is a Permanent position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time work schedule.
Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required while on assignment. Extended hours of duty (10 to 14 hours a day, 7 days a week) may be required.
The PDC Fort Worth, TX location is conveniently located near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and DART/TRE Station. In addition, employees are eligible to apply for transportation subsidy to utilize the local DART/TRE bus/rail transit system.
If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.
A valid driver's license may be required.

Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.

- A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period for non-supervisors if you fail to complete the one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period.
- This position is not included in a bargaining unit.
Qualifications
Individual Occupational Requirements
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Experience:

GS-14: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Supervise or lead IT projects or the day-to-day operations of an IT staff for the delivery of IT critical business activities and/or systems.
Assess or gather user requirements, draft technical specifications, research, develop, and implement customer support solutions; and
Issue and implement technical standards and guidance which affect an IT infrastructure, functions and program; and
Interacting with managers, employees, and other stakeholders in the resolution of IT issues and/or recommendations for improvement.

GS-2210: Information Technology Management Series
Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled.
