You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Systems Integration Department (G), Guns Division (G3) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV located at San Diego, California.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12.
Duties
You will provide In Service Engineering support and representation of the Minor Caliber Guns Branch (Code G32) for the The west coast Gun Weapon System Replacement Program (GWSRP).
You will provide technical support for daily operations and coordinate priorities and efforts of OPNAV, NAVSEASYSCOM, Fleet Technical Support Centers (FTSC), Type Commanders, Depots, ISEAs and ship yards to ensure program requirements are met.
You will oversee and direct accomplishment for the overhaul for guns, gun mounts, gun fire control systems, and NAVSEA managed components that support these systems.
You will provide technical support during the material condition assessment, removal/re-installation, repair, overhaul, and conversion of NAVSEA Minor Caliber Guns weapon systems.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
- You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing technical engineering methods and procedures while overseeing or performing the overhaul, installation, repair, removal, and modernization of shipboard guns or shipboard gun weapon systems to ensure operational readiness.
