As an Information Technology Specialist with Information & Data Analytic Services you will be responsible for enabling modernization and optimization through leveraging systems, environments, and services. You will be part of a team of highly skilled information specialists, data analysts, and IT engineers working to enable NASA's Missions and Projects to be successful by offering comprehensive solutions that streamline and automate functions and enable a simplified approach to compliance.
Duties
Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
Performs collection of requirements needed and investigation of appropriate IT solutions for modernization and optimization.
Designs and maintains data architecture including databases, data repositories, data warehouses, and data pipelines to support business needs and analytical requirements.
Supports developing automation to streamline repetitive tasks, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency.
Investigates technical issues, providing support to end-users, and collaborating with other teams to troubleshoot complex problems.
Develops and enforces data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance.
Supports and maintains IT solutions such as cloud environments, servers, storage systems, databases, SaaS products, and/or virtualization platforms.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
You may meet the basic requirements through substitution of education for experience
To qualify for the GS-9, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level:
Assisting others in analyzing issues and testing solutions to verify requirements are met in an efficient manner;
Communicating with customers to assess and/or address questions concerning information technology (IT) policies and practices;
Building customer relationships and/or partner relationships including responding to customer inquiries or support requests.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
OR
c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
To qualify for the GS-11, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level:
Identifying inefficiencies, summarizing conclusions, and/or presenting new solutions to others;
Identifying and addressing IT requirements and collaborating across the organization to troubleshoot issues;
Assisting with the development and enforcement of requirements/policies in systems like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
OR
c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
