You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION/HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT) in the AC/S, G-1, HRO, MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

Duties

You will provide technical advice to management and perform position management and classification work for all organizations. You will initiate and administer automated training needs assessment surveys for the installation. You will participate in planning and presentation of centralized Career Leadership Development (CLD) training programs. You will participate in all phases of planning, implementing, and administration of training programs, which is responsive to immediate and long-range needs and goals of the Command and workforce. You will arrange for facilities and supporting equipment/training aids for on-site courses and briefings scheduled by the Command. You will conduct and/or facilitate local training courses. You will advise managers on such matters as creating cost effective and efficient organizations, proper job designs, supervisory ratio, organization and position structures.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Reviewing position descriptions for accuracy, recommending proper title, series, and grade; reviewing personnel actions for accuracy and completeness prior to forwarding for processing; AND assisting in developing training requirements, identifying sources of training, and providing input to budget projections. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Providing program management guidance for classification, training development, and the employee recognition awards program; implementing new and/or updates to position builds standards (e.g. Professional, scientific, admin, and technical fields); planning and delivering a variety of training programs and development plans; updating, revising, publishing and managing a command civilian awards programs; briefing a diverse audience to review findings and recommend guidance. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09:
  • I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
  • I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or

  • I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
