This position serves as an IT Cybersecurity analyst and Subject Matter Expert on organization-wide programs related to security management, computing environments, and associated software and hardware. This position will support cybersecurity policy compliance, analysis, and development.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Providing technical expertise in MS Windows, UNIX, AWS Cloud, and emerging technologies, cybersecurity principles, RMF Categorization, identification of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security controls, implementation of security controls
Evaluate, advise, and enforce cybersecurity compliance across all IT programs.
Configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain vulnerability management tools
Oversee and implement new policies and procedures to ensure compliance with vulnerability management principles.
Requirements

- Total salary varies depending on location of position
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period

- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include shift work, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime in support of related mission requirements
- May require up to 25% occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft

- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment
- Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required Foundational Qualification Option (FQO) for certification/recertification per Cyberspace Workforce Roles
- This position requires the incumbent to hold Foundational Qualification Option personnel certification under DoD 8140.01-M (Cyberspace Foundational Options)

In addition to the basic requirement above, applicants must meet specialized experience below:
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates:
Evaluate Information Technology (IT) systems, processes and requests for compliance with regulations;
Providing guidance on IT cybersecurity programs and requirements; and
Monitoring cybersecurity operations to ensure that protocols to implement activities are designed to protect and restore IT systems, services,and capabilities for the organization
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
