You will serve as a Supervisory Intelligence Specialist (Branch Head, Tactical Reconstruction) in the Naval Warfare Department, SWORD Division of NIMITZ OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will serve as the Branch Head of the Tactical Reconstruction Branch of the Submarine Warfare Operations Research Division (SWORD), Nimitz Operational Intelligence Center. You will oversee the branch's mission to provide undersea warfare tactical analysis to meet the demand for long-term tactical and operational intelligence analysis. You will oversee and manage the branch in support of mission accomplishment with the responsibility of organizing, planning and directing a subordinate staff of civilian and military analysts. You will liaison with peers and superiors internal/external to the IC and US and foreign allied government costumers to address intelligence collection gaps and new foreign tactics and capabilities.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Some travel (domestic and overseas) required.
  • May be required to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and shift work as real-world events and Navy activities (to include operations and exercises) require.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing comprehensive intelligence data analysis to appropriate Intelligence Community (IC) and US and foreign allied government customers; 2) Providing guidance to division leadership and informs others of proper information handling, processing, and dissemination procedures related to a unique mission controlled access program; 3) Overseeing and managing the branch in support of mission accomplishment with the responsibility of organizing, planning and directing the work of a subordinate staff of civilian and military analysts; and, 4) Liaisons with peers and superiors internal/external to the IC and US and foreign allied government customers to address intelligence collection gaps and new foreign tactics and capabilities.
