About the Position: Serves as the waivers technician at the Recruiting Battalion (BN) Headquarters (HQ), S-3, responsible for both waiver requests and Future Soldier Training Program (FSTP) separations. As such is responsible for ensuring that required documentation for requests complies with appropriate governing regulations.
Duties
Monitor the Future Soldier Training Program (FSTP) to detect trends in recruiting practices that tend to increase discharge requests.
Process waiver request on behalf of Company Commanders and Field Recruiters.
Serves as the final clerical reviewer for discharges submitted to the Battalion Commander.
Process military discharge request on behalf of the assigned Battalion.
Maintain waivers and Future Soldier Training Program (FSTP) data in accordance with established organizational procedures.
Utilize Army directives to determine suitability of army medical waivers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position may require some travel to support the program.
- A qualified typist is required along with a working knowledge of computers and various computer programs/applications.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) processing actions on behalf of assigned organization; (2) preparing reports regarding personnel actions; (3) analyzing personnel documents to make recommendations and determine eligibility; and (4) reviewing documents to assure they are in accordance with established guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
