Duties
Plans, manages and directs all aspects of motor vehicle traffic investigation.
Performs uniformed police officer duties when needed to assist in police operations.
Performs special tasks such as public relations visits to units and activities serviced.
Performs duties as Military Police Duty Officer (MPDO).
Supervise a combined work force performing law enforcement and traffic investigation tasks.
Performs traffic engineering functions by conducting traffic control studies.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW 190-56.
- Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force.
- This position requires the incumbent to pass an annual Physical Ability Test (PAT).
- This position requires the Incumbent to obtain and maintain certifications for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /first aid techniques.
- The incumbent is required to perform and pass semi-annual qualification testing with firearms (pistol, rifle, shotgun, etc).
- Incumbent is required to wear uniforms.
- Work may require flying on military aircraft.
- Incumbent must be able to act in the capacity of a first responder.
- Incumbent of this position must be prepared to execute the lawful orders of critical incident commanders, military or civilian.
- Incumbent must carry assigned duty weapon.
- Incumbent must successfully complete a Police Officer Field Training Program within one year (12 months).
- The incumbent may be subject to recall in emergency situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
