You will serve as a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AVIONICS) in the Naval Air Technical and Engineering Service Command of NV AIR TECHNICAL DATA AND ENGRG SVC.
Duties
You will provide technical advice and assistance on the acceptance, installation, operation, and/or maintenance of assigned aviation systems.
You will advise technicians on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis.
You will prepare informal training to include on the job, classroom, demonstration training.
You will prepare NATEC Technical Reports and other appropriate reports on subjects of interest or concern to other Fleet activities and commands.
Requirements

Qualifications
For the GS-1670-11, EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AVIONICS)
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Providing technical training in advanced electrical/electronic concepts and troubleshooting of the Airborne Low Frequency sonar systems to the component and module levels; 2. Providing troubleshooting assistance and repair of Airborne Low Frequency systems Reel & Cable Assemblies and the Reeling Machines; 3. Operating, calibrating, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing other avionics test sets and General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) to the lowest replaceable component/assembly; 4. Demonstrating the principles and practice of calibration fundamentals, research techniques, electronic theory and troubleshooting using multi-meter, frequency counter timer, oscilloscope and signal generator; 5. Demonstrating experience in Intermediate Maintenance Work Centers receiving, processing and tracking orders as well as complying to all safety standards.
For the GS-1670-09, EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AVIONICS)
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. A. Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
or
B. I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
or
