This position is an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (GENERAL) in the Plant Maintenance Services Office, Industrial Production Support of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
Current Permanent Competitive Service Civilian Federal Employees of NAVAIR: UIC 65888, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
You will use working knowledge of aircraft repair activities to support assigned program/project activities.
You will analyze the feasibility of repair or replacement of equipment.
You will originate support request for maintenance technicians.
You will perform investigations in support of assigned program/project.
You will formulate request for preservation, repair modification and preventative maintenance.
You will utilize computer data to maintain preventative maintenance records, generate reports, and obtain up-to-date data for assigned equipment, repair, modification, or replacement.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
For this Equipment Specialist (GENERAL) GS-1670-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of Specialized Experience includes performing the following duties: 1) Coordinating and identifying maintenance requirements for all assigned plant equipment; 2) Using working knowledge of major aircraft systems, tooling support equipment, and processes to meet assigned program goals and objectives; 3) Analyzing the feasibility of repair or replacement of assigned equipment; 4) Originating support request for maintenance technicians or similar personnel; 5) Performing investigations and formulating requests for preservation, repair modification, and preventative maintenance of assigned equipment; and 6) Utilizing computer-database(s) to maintain preventative maintenance records, generate reports, and obtain up-to-date data for assigned equipment, repair, modification, or replacement.

You have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to this Equipment Specialist position.
Or
You have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree in a field related to this Equipment Specialist position.
Or
You have successfully an LL.B. or J.D. in a field related to this Equipment Specialist position
Or
You have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree related to the Equipment Specialist position being filled.
Or
You have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Also, your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equates to one hundred percent.
