This position is part of the Comptroller/Chief Financial Officer (CC) Directorate .
Duties
As a Budget Analyst at the NH-0560-3 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:
Gathers and maintains necessary documentation to support funding documents and creates, and obligates funding document in accordance with spend plans.
Builds and maintains a tracking log of all funding documents in order to monitor funding processed, committed, obligated, and expended by performer, organization, and priority.
Generates financial reports and assess execution status, trends, causes, and resolutions.
Generates and maintains spend plans and amounts to accomplish program work scope within established guidelines.
Research laws, polices, regulations and reference material analyzes information, selects appropriate approach and recommends corrective action for directorate efficiencies.
Work with program offices and other stakeholders to ensure compliant execution of Agency funding.
Apply data analysis techniques to identify efficiencies and improvements in agency financial operations.
Leverage knowledge of financial databases and related acquisition, property, and other business systems to improve operations, reporting, and traceability of business transactions.

- This is an acquisition position coded Practitioner in Business, Financial Management. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (B2B) certification within 60 months of entry into position.
- Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.
- This is a Financial Management Level II Certified position. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-03 Broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Applying the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE), fiscal law, policies, regulations, principles, standards and procedures to financial management activities to examine, verify, validate, and reconcile fiscal accounts in financial systems.
Identifying, analyzing, and resolving financial management issues by determining alternate solutions to problems and recommending solutions to leadership to include interpreting financial execution data and resolving variances.
Utilizing a variety of office automation software (word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, graphics, databases) and financial systems to support financial management activities and execute funding documents.
Developing, preparing, assembling, and communicating charts, financial management reports, briefs, narratives, and monthly key success metrics.
Examining, verifying, validating, and reconciling fiscal accounts in financial systems.
